5 sinister places supposedly haunted by children

You may have noticed that we here at Mega Curious love to talk about scary places - and you can find a variety of sinister stories on this topic through this link. For today, to further increase our selection of macabre stories, we have put together five places that are supposed to be haunted by the souls of children. Check out:

1 - St. Ignatius School

Located in Winnipeg, Canada, St. Ignatius School was founded in 1911, and children attending the school keep their distance from a playground toy - as you can see in the image below:

The reason is that a few years ago a little kindergarten girl who was playing fell out of the rings and banged her head against the toy frame. Unfortunately, the girl did not resist the injuries and eventually died - and today, children are afraid to approach the rings because there are reports of people who say they have felt small cold hands trying to pull them down.

2 - Lake Shawnee Amusement Park

Opened in the mid-1920s in West Virginia, Lake Shawnee Amusement Park has a sinister past and was the scene of two dramatic accidents. The attraction was built in an area where there was an old Indian cemetery and, as it were, three children - who belonged to a family of settlers - were killed by Shawnee Indians on the site in 1783, two scalped and one burned at the stake.

While the park was in operation, a boy drowned in one of the local pools and a little girl was hit by a truck that accidentally hit her while she played on the swings shown in the image above. Finally, the attraction was closed and completely abandoned, and the current owner of Lake Shawnee said he had seen a little girl playing on the swings.

3 - Drost Park

The place we describe below could only be haunted! It is located in Huntsville, Alabama, and is a playground that was built in a corner of Maple Hill Cemetery. Now, tell me, dear reader ... Who sets up a playground inside a cemetery and hopes it won't be associated with horror stories? By the way, what an idea! A play space between headstones?

The children's graves are not far away, and of course the playground has been dubbed by the Huntsville population the "Dead Children's Playground." To make matters worse, a serial killer who panicked the region in the 1940s is said to have deposited the bodies of his victims in a nearby camp.

4 - Cannock Chase

You may have heard of children with completely black eyes, haven't you? We here at Mega Curioso have already brought you something about them in one of our stories - you can access it via this link - and basically, they would be apathetic-looking sinister little creatures that usually approach people who are alone (at home, in the car, etc.) and ask for permission to enter the premises.

For it is said that a girl with black eyes was spotted in Cannock Chase, England, and there is even a photo and even a video (recorded by a drone) of the alleged girl circulating on the Internet. According to reports, the young woman was first seen in the early 1980s, and at that time stories about her presence in the region aroused interest in various parts of the world. Now, more than 30 years later, it looks like the spectrum has returned!

According to witnesses who are said to have been unlucky enough to meet with the child, they are often alerted by noises, cries and shouts in the woods and when they rush to the scene for help, they come across a girl no older than 10 old that has completely black eyeballs.

5 - Bassa Villa Pub

The quaint Bassa Villa pub, located in Bridgnorth, England, has become quite popular with the country's ghost hunters - and a strange video captured on site has only reinforced its haunted reputation. Watch and draw your own conclusions:

Bassa Villa's manager discovered the scenes upon arriving in the morning, finding several broken glasses and suspecting that the bar had been robbed. However, after checking the security cameras, he found that the images were taken after the pub was closed at dawn, when there was absolutely no one in the room.

According to legend, in the 16th century, two children named Charlotte and William were playing hide and seek in the mansion where the pub operates - which was called Magpie House at the time - and ended up locked in the basement. Then the Severn River overflowed and the flood would have caught the pair off guard, killing the two drowned.

Inconsolable, parents would have ordered marble statues to honor their children - and the two pieces can still be seen today in Bassa Villa's garden. However, in an interesting twist of legend in the middle of last year, a well was discovered in the basement of the pub, raising suspicions that the little ones may have drowned inside, not in a flood.

Regardless of how the children died - and if the story is true - the fact is that in addition to the incident of the glasses, so many sinister events have been witnessed in the pub. In addition to unexplained noises, there are reports of patrons who saw shadows roaming the place, the bar manager said he has already felt his arm being grabbed in the basement and rumors are that the two children and their mother would be responsible for the hauntings.
