50 days and 194.9 thousand pieces: LEGO assembles replica of classic Ford Mustang

Not infrequently, in LEGO stores around the world, business owners and their most dedicated employees create true sculptures with the building blocks. The goal? Call attention of potential customers and take off a spontaneous disclosure, of course. The folks at LEGOLAND Florida Resort, however, went further in their creative mission.

Apparently, some gearheads that were scaled for the project decided to use the toy and the opportunity to build nothing less than the replica of a nearly life-size 1964½ V8 Coupe Ford Mustang. In its LEGO version, the classic big car is 1.2 meters high, 1.8 meters wide and imposing 4.6 meters long.

Did you look alike, friends?

Although it lacks any mechanical parts, the vehicle has functional taillights and taillights, and it has a loudspeaker underneath its plastic hood capable of reproducing horn sounds and the original engine's snoring.

Calm down, it is not worth getting excited and thinking about pushing the toy around, since the work weighs "only" 776.5 kg. Of this total, 435 kg correspond only to LEGO blocks, while the remainder comes from the aluminum frame that serves as the chassis of the fake car.

Time and many, many pieces

On the video page on YouTube, the authors of the joke confirmed that the initiative was sponsored by the US automaker through its Ford Driving School in the region and gave some more details of the venture. While it may sound simple when you consider only the fast-paced clip assembly, the production of the classic Mustang used about 194, 900 blocks and took 1, 200 hours - yes, 50 days! - to be ready.

So, would you have the patience to create a replica like this or would you rather save a few bucks to try to pan a good model of the big car, huh?
