1. Cage for babies - 1937

These baby cages were successful in the late 1930s in the city of London. They were used by parents who lived in apartments and could let their children take in fresh air from over 30 meters! Can you imagine that being used today?

2. Test of bulletproof vest - 1923

The people of old seem to have no sense at all. If you disagree just look at this 1923 photo that shows the test of a bulletproof vest and change your mind. One real person is using the equipment while another shoots at close range. Ever wonder if this business fails?

3. Hippo Pulling Wagon - 1924

Looking at this picture you might think the folks freaked out, but rest assured that hippos were not common for taking over horses. This curious photo was taken in a circus in 1924, so it's explained, isn't it?

4. Falls on a Barrel - 1901

American teacher Annie Edson Taylor made history by being the first person to survive the fall of Niagara Falls in a barrel. Before the adventure, she posed for this historic photo next to her little toy. Annie descended the falls in 1901 when she was 63 years old and took the pet kitten with her.

5. Change of meaning - 1967

Until 1967, traffic in Sweden followed English standards. In this curious photo, we can see the chaos that was the first day after the change, with the lost drivers on which side of the street they should be driving.

6. Return of Space - 1961

In this historic 1961 photo, cute chimpanzee Ham holds a newspaper that tells of his feat. In January of that year, he became one of the first living things to walk around in space and safely return to Earth.

7. Elvis Presley in the Army - 1958

At the height of his success, singer Elvis Presley surprised the press and fans by joining the US Army in 1958. He spent two years in the corporation and refused any privileged treatment for being a celebrity. Nice example, don't you think?
