Beyond the US and Mexico: See 18 more barriers that separate countries around the world

You must be following the news related to the ongoing clash in the US about whether or not to build the infamous Mexican border wall, right? However, while this discussion deals with a topic that surprises many people - as it proposes to 'separate' territories in a world where many preach tolerance, cooperation and unity among peoples - the truth is that there are many others. barriers of the type already installed or being mounted by the planet.

According to Alan Taylor of The Atlantic / In Focus website, many countries are investing in strengthening their borders in an attempt to curb drug trafficking, the flow of immigrants, terrorist activities and even the onset of conflict. According to Alan, after the end of World War II, 51 nations built some kind of fortified barrier to protect their territories; however, about half of these were raised between 2000 and 2014, proving that we are facing a more current problem than it seems.
