It's never too late to pack and fall into the world. Proof of this is retired Elena Mikhailovna, 89, who decided to invest all her savings in travel. When asked what her friends think about her adventurous spirit, she jokes, "Girls are jealous."

In an interview with Sputnik Vietnam, the retired woman revealed that although she is in poor health, she prefers to know the world rather than stay at home in the city of Krasnoyarsk - about 4, 000 kilometers from Moscow.

Traveling to Vietnam, the retiree was impressed by the local cuisine and the friendliness of other tourists.

The suggestion to go around the world came from friends when the Russian was 83 years old. Since then she has traveled to Poland, Vietnam and Israel once, twice to Germany and five to the Czech Republic. In addition to his retirement money, Mikhailovna sells flowers and receives contributions from relatives in order to make his excursions.

Her last trip was to Israel, where she had the opportunity to bathe in the Jordan River and the Dead Sea, ride a camel and visit the tomb of Jesus Christ. And if finances and health permit, she will visit Spain and Italy very soon.

“I want to tell everyone my age: don't be afraid to travel. It is necessary and useful to know the world, ”said the retired woman.
