Artist uses pencils to reproduce complex photographs flawlessly

Malaysian illustrator Monica Lee has been a digital artist for 12 years and she has finally decided to pursue her dream work in illustration. She painstakingly draws complex portraits of young men and boys with freckles, bearded men and birds, always perfectly reproducing texture and shading. Many of these arts take three to four weeks to complete.

Some of his drawings are based on photographs of other artists - that of the girl with glasses, for example, is based on a photo of model Ada Kristine, taken by artist Marteline Nystad.

Lee mentions his admiration for photography and that his father worked in this area. “I grew up enjoying the value of photographs, ” he explained. “That's why I prefer the photorealistic style over other styles. And recently, I came across the work of Dirk Dzimirski and Paul Cadden. The realism of their work with graffiti impressed me! I want to be able to do that. ”
