Very well accompanied

During our lifetime, we come across certain movies that have not become blockbuster, but certainly have a captive place in our hearts. For me, one such case is the romantic comedy "The Wedding Date" from 2005.

Starring Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney, the film tells the story Kat Ellis (Messing), a woman who, not to appear alone at her younger sister's wedding, decides to hire escort Nick Mercer (Mulroney) and pretend he is her boyfriend long standing.

All this effort is made to impress the ex, who left her two years ago, but will be at the party - he is the best friend of the groom and godfather of the couple about to climb the altar. In addition, Kat needs to prove something to her own family, which also charges her for not having a suitor in sight.

However, Kat doesn't know how professional Nick is. With her glamorous manner and quirky charm, she manages to win over not only family guests, but also the protagonist she works for, while captivating him in a different way.

Like every good romantic comedy, "Very Well Accompanied" is stuffed with clichés and brings a predictable ending. However, he is different with respect to the characters, who gradually show their true “faces”.

The highlight is a young Amy Adams in the role of Kat's sister. The actress plays an initially futile and envious girl who can redeem herself and build a lasting relationship with her sister, learning from past mistakes.

In addition, it is worth mentioning the chemistry between Mulroney and Messing, exemplified in one of the highlights of the film: a scene in front of the bar where the bachelorette rolls loose.

If you are looking for a good comedy for the next few days “Very Well Accompanied” is a great option. Hit play and check it out!
