Amateur astronomer catches meteor hitting planet Jupiter [video]

Planet Jupiter has just suffered a great tragedy, which fortunately was filmed by some amateur astronomers in the United States. A meteor struck the largest planet in the Solar System, causing an explosion that could be evidenced from a stellar distance - as is the case where the astronomer who captured the event here from Earth was.

You can check out the event in the video above, which was posted on George 1895's Flickr profile. The amateur astronomer only discovered that he had caught the meteor crash after his colleague Dan Peterson posted to an online astronomy forum having observed an unknown clarity. on the surface of Jupiter.

The Gizmodo Web site points to the fact that it may be that Jupiter saved the earth from a tragedy of catastrophic proportions. Therefore, we can say that this video proves the protective role that the great planet plays in relation to our world, due to its Dantesque gravitational field generated by its own mass. Thank you, Jupiter!
