Belarusians take the president's advice to work naked seriously
Each country has its own political problem. In Brazil, as soon as Michel Temer took over the interim presidency of the presidency, he launched the slogan "Don't think about crisis, work." The line has been criticized by people of all political ideologies, outraged that the president wants the people to ignore the crisis we are all going through.
In Belarus, something similar has happened. President Alyaksandr Lukashenko, known as Batska (who can be translated as Daddy), told citizens to "take off your clothes and work until you sweat." This is because of the severe economic crisis the country is going through: the ruble, the local currency, is being devalued every day.
Dad's decree ordered workers to sweat naked in their jobsLukashenko's idea was to unite the people so that they could work harder to raise the country, using the metaphor of working naked ... only the Belarusians took the suggestion to the letter! A lot of people in the country are going to work hard, as suggested by the president. The hashtag #fikeledwork (written in Belarusian) has become Trending Topic in the country - so much so that a lot of people have been sharing fun images in offices. Check out some:
