Chinese survives for 6 days by drinking their own urine after a serious accident

As we have already commented in this issue of Mega Curioso, consuming one's own urine is not recommended for anyone, and if possible, the practice should also be avoided in extreme situations. However, sometimes it is necessary to make exceptions in the name of survival, as was the dramatic case of 28-year-old Chinese worker Yang Hsieh.

According to Darren Boyle of the Daily Mail, Hsieh was finishing work on a construction site in central China's Hunan province when he crashed into an unprotected location. The boy was alone at the time of the accident and collapsed from a height of 20 meters, ending up in a hole.

In the fall, the Chinese fractured his legs and arms and broke his cellphone, becoming incommunicado. He tried to call for help, but none of his co-workers could hear his screams. The colleagues missed Hsieh and at first thought he might be sick.

Disappearance

They said they tried to contact Hsieh during the first three days of their disappearance. But as his cell phone seemed to be constantly turned off, his colleagues soon assumed that the boy had gotten a better job and left his post without telling anyone, and gave up continuing to call.

Luckily, a man walking his dog near the building heard a strange noise and decided to investigate. Then, as he approached the scene, he heard Hsieh asking for help. The boy was rescued six days after the accident and revealed that he had to drink his own pee in order not to die of dehydration. Despite the injuries and terrible experience, the doctors who attended Hsieh are confident that he will recover completely.
