Batman Dark Knight

Originally launched in 1986, the four-issue miniseries revolutionized the comic world at the time. The story, composed entirely of Frank Miller, shows the saddened and bitter Dark Knight after retirement and having to return to work. It is easy to say that it was a work that marked and influenced the comic book world in terms of narrative and theme. In 2001, the author and designer revisits the story, continuing the series with The Dark Knight 2, a blockbuster. Panini relaunched the comics in one volume, deluxe edition, with Miller's introduction, sketches and more.

The masked vigilante is portrayed 10 years after abandoning the fight against crime, encouraged to return to the streets for his great sense of justice and rising crime in Gothan City. Although heroes are extinct by law, Superman is still active, used as a secret weapon in cases of international crisis or major wars. Traumatized and tormented by the past, Batman uses intelligence, strength and violence to try to stop the gang called "mutants." A controversial Robin also emerges to further pique public opinion already divided by the novelty of the batman. Joker awakens from Arkham Asylum and returns to classic insanity, using Catwoman to attract attention. Harvey Dent the Two Faces reinforces the team of villains, forcing Bruce Wayne to his limit. Is the Man of Steel, sent by the government, the only force capable of deterring the wit of the millionaire heir? The most epic clash of all will say!

Batman: The Deadly Joke

Created by award-winning screenwriter Alan Moore (author of Watchmen and V for Revenge) in 1988, The Deadly Joke shows what a bad day can mean in a man's life, separating the fine line between sanity and madness. The drawings by Brian Bolland, who masterfully portray Moore's plots, were not colored by him. Just 20 years later the artist recreated the work, according to his imagination and in keeping with the story of the greatest villain of all: the Joker.

In a mix of current events and flashbacks, the definitive story of Batman's archenemy shows a violent and shrewd duel between the two. After years of analysis, upon returning to Arkham Asylum, Batman discovers that Joker has fled the sanatorium. In the streets, he will prove that even the most centered and healthy of men can cross the line of madness in the face of certain events.

Commissioner Gordon is one of his main victims, as his daughter, known as Batgirl, is the victim of attacks to try to drive the policeman crazy. Batman will have to act quickly and intelligently to curb his rival's follies and spare his allies.
