Liking purses and shoes can not only be detrimental to your credit card, but also a warning about how your self-esteem goes. New Zealand researchers have found that women who feel insecure about their body tend to buy more of these two items than other garments.

The study was conducted by the University of Canterbury and was attended by 286 students from the university itself and 922 from the University of Alberta, Canada. According to information from the Huffington Post, visual insecurity arises because women tend to compare themselves negatively when they see models with sculptural bodies in designer labels.

So they prefer to buy bags and shoes that enhance the beauty and update the wardrobe without having to look straight ahead, instead of having to go into the dressing room and look for extra fat when trying on pants, for example. .

The paper suggests, based on the research, that the data reveal that the growth in the number of lean models affects not only female self-esteem but also their spending habits.
