Assumed dead, little bitch returns home after 10 years

When death strikes our family, we face grief in different ways, but little by little we usually return to routine. With the loss of animals is something similar, since often our pets are more important than real relatives. Now, have you ever imagined meeting an animal after 10 years? This is what happened to an American family.

In 2008, the Suiervelds had a baby babe about a year old named Abby. One day, however, she was playing outside with her owners when she ran away. Debra Suieverld searched the dog for weeks until she accepted that she had died and would not find her again.

Last week, on January 30, almost 10 years later, Debra got a call from a group of animal protectors saying they had found her puppy. The woman said that was impossible, since her dog - the new one - was standing before her at that very moment. Then they said, "It's Abby."

Abby has some gray hair and benign cysts, typical of her age.

The power of microchip

“I didn't even know what to say, ” said Debra. It was as if Abby had come back from the dead in her mind. After all, it had been a decade since she was gone, how could she be alive by now? She is believed to have found a new family, but this is still uncertain as none have been missed for a black labrador in recent days.

Abby appeared at the door of a woman's house on January 27, about eight miles from her original home. You went to the police, who eventually took the dog to a shelter where a microchip with information was taken that led authorities to Suiervelds.

For a long time, Debra complained that she had microchipped the little dog, which had been given as a gift to then-teen Carly, then 12 years old. Today at 22, the girl is in college in Ohio, more than 500 km from home, and is looking forward to rediscover Abby, who according to her mother still obeys if called by that name. Awesome, huh?
