No one can doubt that the wedding industry is promising. According to data released by the Association of Professionals, Services for Weddings and Social Events (Abrafesta), the area is expected to grow 16% in 2012, with revenues of 14.8 million reais. IBGE also has optimistic data: in 2010, the number of marriages increased 4.5% compared to 2009.

Based on this hot market, the emotion.me website was created, with Harpia Ventures investment, which aims to help the couple to organize the "yes" day in a simple and social way. According to the disclosure, the startup emerged to be the only and mandatory online stop that adds the necessary steps to be performed, from engagement to the altar.

How it works

After signing up for the service, the couple must create their personalized website, where will be the event information. You can also count on features such as planning, advice, agenda and gift list, so that nothing is forgotten.

Based on the date of the event, the system begins to offer indications of the main services and suppliers that can be hired, following the schedule suggested by the couple, as well as the other options filled in on the form.

You can also share information with guests through Facebook. This was also emotion.me's strategy for gaining new users by inviting all friends who have the status set to “groom”.

Expectations

By the end of the year, the startup expects to gather at least 10, 000 registered users from all over Brazil. In addition, the company wants to add 2, 000 partners in the same period, including suppliers to be referred to the couple.

According to website CEO Bruna Bittencourt, the launch will bring the most complete couple services channel in the country. “We have identified a shortage in the industry and after many studies and conversations with potential clients, we have come up with the best solution to live and plan the step-by-step marriage with the help of the internet, ” she explains.

After launch, the startup, however, will not stagnate. According to Bruna, it will undergo constant improvements as users' needs are understood.
