Child Engineers: Children Illustrate Future Car Projects

Every year, at national and international car shows, we launch cars that can meet our current needs. Meanwhile, we know that designers and engineers have been looking a little further for solutions that are aligned with the demands of the next generation.

GoCompare - the UK auto insurance comparison firm - decided to do this, but in a more interesting way: by asking future users how they would imagine these vehicles in a few decades. To this end, the company asked a group of 11-year-old children from a London school to express their views through drawings.

The challenge was for them to produce the project illustration with a focus on some alternative and sustainable energy. This is because the British government intends to ban the use of fossil fuel in all vehicles until 2040. GoCompare later collected these drawings and brought them to an illustrator to bring the works to life.

The result is something very creative, which goes beyond barriers in a way that only children can. According to the company representative, Andrew Campion, what was obtained were cute designs based on robotics. But also with ecofriendly and other additional concepts.

Andrew also points out that in terms of alternative energy, they came up with surprising ideas, ranging from hydroelectricity and solar energy to chocolate.

The cars of the 11-year-old's future also include other fantastic elements such as wings, animal shapes, laser shooting and robots. On the other hand, some of them included major innovations, thinking of more durable batteries and standalone vehicles. This way, your passengers would not have to worry about the road and could sleep at ease during any journey.

It is a fact that these young people were able to conceive projects disregarding concepts of physics. But the interesting thing is that they are still - with certain exceptions - close to reality. After all, many designers have developed work based on some of these concepts.

Anyone who follows the news on the subject may have seen several reports about cars that drive alone in the not too distant future. The same happens with other forms of energy for its operation, such as electric cars.

Some interesting illustrations deserve highlighting. Student Harnitha, for example, created the Beast Racer 210, a dragon-shaped vehicle that flies, glows in the dark, is heatproof and has flexible windows.

Kyre introduced his Hennessey K-cell GT, an electric vehicle with folding wheels that allows it to fly. On the other hand, Charlotte designed her multi-function Rainbow Convertible 3000 so that it would function as a home and at the same time a means of transportation.

It doesn't matter which of these options is closest to the cars of the future. What is certain is that, somehow, they also launch new possibilities for solutions to the demands of the next generations.
