We died at Escape 60 ', but we came back to tell you how it went

About 4 years ago, a group of Asians - always them - decided to launch a new kind of entertainment: locking a crowd inside a room, without internet access, with the sole purpose of leaving inside. Of course, the task is not as easy as you might think as you have to solve various puzzles within a short period of time.

In Brazil, Escape 60 'has been around since 2015, and the staff at TecMundo went to check out two close quarters: “A Joia da Coroa” and “Goosebumps”, the latter being temporary to promote the movie of the same name. Just over a month ago, Escape 60 'opened its first branch in Curitiba, and it was the turn of the Mega Curious class to test the game.

Me (Diego), Camila, Willian, Maria Luciana and Felipe, all writers, besides Mariana, social media, and Carol, design, we play for real! Our challenge was to leave the room "PS Have Fear", considered the most difficult of the 4 that Escape 60 'currently has in Curitiba.

Hardest room of the game was Mega Curious Challenge

“Be curious”

On the way we were tense. After all, we are from Humanas: solving complicated puzzles is not exactly our specialty. What if we stood like muggles without solving anything? What if we were running like crazy cockroaches? Our tension increased even more when we knew we would face the toughest room of all.

Our guide gave the instructions: no smartphones and “be curious”. We're Mega Curious, boy! As we entered, we watched a video explaining our challenge. We'd play cop Ferrett, who investigates the famous serial killer Prince Seriale. In addition to leaving his initials at the victims' home, PS spreads clues about his future murders. In order not to be killed, we needed to solve all the puzzles and escape in less than 1 hour. Counting!

We were in a garage with a car and various objects that referred to this room. Some tools, a bike, several wheels and cabinets. And padlocks. Padlocks for all sides. It was then that the hunt began to try to figure out how we would open each of them.

Not everything is what it seems

If the place were Escape 61 '...

At first, everything seems easy. “It's just a garage. There's not so much hidden that way. ” But there is! And time flies! By the time we realized it was over 1/3 of the joke, and we seemed far from somewhere. That's when we started asking for tips. To do this, most simply lift one finger, and the monitor, through the cameras, decides whether to release a track or not.

Many times we would hear, "Be curious." It seemed teasing. In a good way, of course! With each new puzzle solved, it seemed that another 30 appeared. And they mingled. And we forgot everything. And now who can help us? Without Chapolin Colorado, we had to appeal to brains and teamwork.

Counting more than that without dropping spoilers is hard enough. However, in a room with only 10% of team completion, we are proud to say that we are “for the good”. Seriously, if we had a mere 60 seconds more, I really believe we would have gotten out of there. But we were slaughtered by the ruses of Prince Seriale.

The serial killer victims

Evaluation

Was another victim of the serial killer dead in the room frustrating? Was. Did that spoil the fun? Not even a little! The fun is not exactly in completing the task, as each puzzle solved looks like a giant victory and is cause for celebration.

Testing our options, our sense of communication and our creativity, as well as leaving our comfort zone, was the great reward. We were, more than ever, megacurios. Of course that 1% vagabond of the unfinished task will be stuck in our throats for a long time, but it makes us want to go back to Escape 60 'and play in the other three rooms available in Curitiba.

The "Death Corridor" room is set in a prison, while "Save Our Souls (SOS)" has the setting of a macabre dinner. Escape Kitchen, on the other hand, is played between two groups, with only one of them being the winner, and has a very similar scenario to that of the MasterChef program - that's what we most want to play next time. Call us again, Escape!

Ah! And stay tuned, because this weekend has special Halloween programming, extended hours and zombies!

We didn't escape, but it was cool nonetheless
