This guy is real life Tony Stark

Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, has engineering skills beyond the ordinary, but considering that it's all comics, nothing new. But have you ever thought that it is possible for someone so skilled to be among us? Learn the story of Emile Leray, the Frenchman who built his own motorcycle in the middle of the desert.

In 1993, the adventurer was traveling through Africa. I had done this several times, so I knew the area well, but that day things didn't work out.

He drove a Citroën 2CV, known there as an "iron camel", because it was tough under adverse conditions, and after leaving the city of Tan-Tan in Morocco, ended up in a military barrier. He was informed that this area had become restricted, so he could not move on; however, instead of returning, he accelerated off the road, fleeing the officers and making sure they did not follow him.

As he knew the area, he believed his plan was perfect, but at one point the car could not stand the rough terrain and hit a rock, breaking the steering bar and the wheel axle. In his position, he estimated it to be 30 kilometers from the nearest town, so he considered that it was not worth the risk of trying to walk there. The solution? Adapt the car to get out of there turning it into a motorcycle.

Leray had some tools, including a saw, and enough water to survive for a few days, so he decided that he would modify the car so that he could reach the nearest city alive. Initially, he removed the entire body of the car and used it as a sleeping shelter at night. Since he had no welding equipment, he used the saw to weaken the regions where he wanted an opening and ended the job with a hammer, fitting the pieces later.

He even adapted a damper as a seat and finally managed to mount his escape mode. At first, the adventurer estimated that the service would last a few days, but in total there were 12! After a day of riding the motorcycle, he was stopped by the Moroccan police, fined for having documents on a car and driving a motorcycle, and taken to the nearest town.

To this day Leray keeps his motorcycle, and with it the reminder of the difficult time he went through, but can also prove what happened and feel Iron Man himself. Not bad!
