According to Science Alert's Michelle Starr, you can't be absolutely sure what kind of animal this is just by looking at the images, but it's probably a tangle of creatures of the genus Tubifex, animals that are often found in rivers., lakes, oceans and even sewers, and usually form colonies.

Moreover, according to Michelle, if they are of this kind, it means that worms are “cousins” of worms, and just like worms, they feed on debris. And, thinking that one of the places that these naughty creatures use to settle in is the sewers, wonder what they eat ...
