'Guardians of the Galaxy': first trailer for new Marvel movie

“Guardians of the Galaxy” is Marvel's big bet on theaters this year. The film is part of the same fictional universe as other successful productions released in recent years, such as "The Avengers" and the Iron Man trilogy.

But not everyone is familiar with the history of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and Marvel faces the challenge of releasing a title not as well known as the house's most famous heroes - will the production be able to attract viewers to the movie theaters even without Robert Downey Jr. in front of the cast?

In the movie, Chris Pratt plays Peter Quill (also called StarLord), an American pilot, son of a human mother and an extraterrestrial father, who has a powerful object coveted by villain Ronan (Lee Pace). Quill is persecuted and, to try to survive and prevent a war in the galaxy, joins a group of defenders formed by the raccoon Rocket (voice of Bradley Cooper), the Groot tree (voice of Vin Diesel), Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista).

The first trailer of the adventure was released this week and shows a very different climate from other Marvel productions. Director James Gunn's film (which wrote the scripts for the Scooby-Doo movies) should not lack action, but we can see that there is a bet on humor and comedy, as a more uncompromising result than the works of other heroes.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” is scheduled to premiere on August 1st in Brazil and the United States. Before that, in April, Marvel launches Captain America's second solo adventure in theaters - and you can see the trailer for “The Winter Soldier” here.
