Man thought he would have fivefolds and finds out girlfriend wasn't pregnant

A Canadian named Paul Servat believed his girlfriend, Barbara, was pregnant with quintuplets. Her belly grew, she started producing milk and neighbors and friends made donations to the family. But that only until a nurse told him there was no pregnancy. “We were so happy, ” lamented Servat. “Even my parents were eager to win grandchildren. My life is over."

A friend of the couple told a TV show that the story of the alleged pregnant woman was not fitting properly, mainly because from time to time the number of children increased - first one, then two, then three, four and five.

A gynecologist and obstetrician told the program that Barbara may have had a "pseudocyesis", a psychological pregnancy, a condition in which the body shows signs of pregnancy, but without the formation of a fetus. Now Servat's girlfriend is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.
