Scientists photograph the double helix of a DNA molecule

The incredible image above, obtained through a transmission electron microscope, allows the unprecedented visualization of the double helix of a DNA. The figure was obtained by a group of Italian researchers, and the red arrows show the spacing between the filaments, which measures only 2.7 nanometers.
