Man spends $ 1,500 and takes 6 months to produce a sandwich

When we take a break in the day to prepare a simple sandwich, we don't think about the amount of time and money involved in this simple act of eating. American Andy George of How to Make Everything on YouTube decided to check out all the processes involved in this common snack, and the result was 6 months of work and $ 1, 500 invested.

With time and value in mind, it seems like a lot for something you can buy for about $ 5 at a good bakery. But starting production of all the ingredients was a much more complex and costly process than Andy himself imagined.

All the work has been divided into 11 episodes published on the channel, and in each of them, it addresses one of the items. The How to Make a Sandwich series showed Andy growing tomatoes, onions, cucumbers and wheat, collecting milk and honey and even boiling seawater for salt.

According to Andy, it was all very laborious, as he did not use any form of preservative. Thus, it was necessary to set up a very accurate calendar, so that each item was ready at the right time and not spoiled.

In the last episode, he rides and tries his sandwich, but the result seems to have left him a little disappointed: "Not bad, " he says. "Six months of my life for 'not bad' ..." he repeats to himself. Remember that the average cost to buy all ingredients in the market would be only $ 15.
