Young man who inspired “Guilt is from the Stars” dies at 25

If you have lost count of how many tears you have shed by reading "The Guilt Is From the Stars" and later watching the movie, here's some sad news: Dalton Prager, one of the young people who inspired the plot, unfortunately died.

The book tells the story of Hazel and Gus, who suffer from serious illness and see their lives change as they meet in a cancer support group. Inspiringly, they realize there is no time to waste and live an intense and fast love.

"You gave me an eternity within our numbered days"

Similarly, there was love between Dalton and Katie, two young men struggling with very serious conditions. Dalton was a carrier of Burkholderia cepacia bacteria, which is extremely contagious for people with cystic fibrosis, Katie's disease.

Despite being advised by doctors to meet, the two fell in love and, two years later, in 2011, married.

Two weeks ago, Dalton was admitted to the ICU and, last Saturday (17), died. According to Katie's mother, just before, the couple had communicated through FaceTime: "She told him she loved him, but we don't know if he heard her."
