Mummified Mantis on Christmas Tree Scares English Couple

Christmas has magical traditions that span generations, and one of them is the assembly of the tree. We have already told you a little about its origin and the right day to set it up, but an English couple who live in Manchester were startled when they decided to join the tradition last Monday (7).

Tatianna Scott and Matthew Woods bought a Christmas tree for £ 30 and kept it for a week before placing the ornaments. “I noticed something brown at the end of one of the branches and, without thinking, went to remove it, thinking it was some piece of cardboard packaging, ” wrote Tatianna on Facebook.

The surprise — and the giant scare — was when she noticed that this was actually a mummified mantis. “I got the biggest scare of my life, mostly because I didn't like creepy crawlies of any kind, ” continues the report. To make matters worse, Tatianna says she had never seen a praying mantis before - and thanked him that he was dead.

Inglesa shared her scare on Facebook

The tree was made in China, and Tatianna thanks her for not getting any worse inside - like a living, poisonous spider, for example. The store that sold the product, Sainsbury, lamented the incident and said it will investigate how the "monster" ended up in the box.

Now the question remains: was the scare justified? How would you behave if you saw such a beautiful pet on your Christmas tree? Would you rush to share your fear on Facebook or keep that “cardboard” just for you?
