Japanese brand builds all-wood electronics hub

Smart devices for home resource control can be an interesting solution for those looking to integrate multiple devices and resources. In the market, some options can already be found, such as the Amazon Echo Show and Google Home Hub. In this case, the design may look something like this: it is made up of a small screen, accompanied by speakers. Completely out of shape, Mui - the Japanese technology company - presents its home hub that is visually nothing more than a rectangular block of wood.

When you receive touch commands, only a few illuminated letters and icons appear on your sensitive LED display, as the controller has no speakers. Thus, because it looks nothing like an electronic device, it can easily be installed on the wall of various environments of a home or business without compromising its aesthetic part.

For practical use, you can get weather information as well as Spotify's built-in temperature control, lighting adjustment, and playback of music tracks. That's because Mui's home hub supports Sonos One wireless speakers, Nest thermostats, and Philips Hue smart lighting.

Mui introduced its hub at CES 2019, and won the event's innovation award. Prior to that, the initial design of the device was launched in 2018 on Kickstarter - the electronic financing platform - reaching nearly $ 115, 000 - the goal was to reach $ 100, 000. This shows that the controller successfully attracted the attention of the general public.

To expand its production, the company recently launched another crowdfunding goal at Indiegogo InDemand, in which it will be possible to collaborate with the financing of the product in this regard. It can be purchased for $ 549, with deliveries scheduled for November this year. Ahead, its price should rise to $ 999 at retail.
