But what is this weird thing that appeared on an Indonesian beach?

Turn and move the ocean deposits things beyond strangers on the beaches around the world - and we at Mega Curious have already shown here several such oddities, as was the case with a supposed sea monster that appeared in New Zealand, a creature like a mermaid who showed up in England and a very sinister animal that was found in Russia. For this week another bizarre copy was brought by the sea and generated much controversy.

This time the strange creature appeared in Indonesia, and no one could agree on what it was. The bloody, poor thing was discovered last Tuesday on Seram Island; According to witnesses, the carcass is about 15 meters long and between 6 and 7 meters wide.

According to Sarah Kimmorley of Business Insider, among the guesses that began to circulate since the creature was found were those of a giant squid, a huge whale and even an elephant - an elephant ... 15 meters ! See more images of the intriguing dead animal below:

Sinister, don't you think? But do not think that it is an unknown monster from the depths or a mythical creature whose existence has finally surfaced. By the way, if your guess was that it was a dead whale, know that you got it right! According to Tia Ghose of the Live Science website, a biologist specializing in these mammals identified in the carcass the structure that these animals use to filter water and obtain food.

Due to its advanced state of decomposition, the expert could not tell which species exactly the whale belongs to, but suspects that it may be a blue whale ( Balaenoptera musculus ) or perhaps a Bryde whale ( Balaenoptera brydei or Balaenoptera edeni ), although it is less likely.

The biologist also said that the animal is apparently dead for some time now - from two weeks to several months - so the smell on the beach should not be pleasant at all. Also, people should avoid bathing in these waters and of course not consuming the liquid!
