Female doctor in her own labor helps another woman give birth

Last Sunday, July 23, obstetrician Amanda Hess arrived at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Kentucky (USA), for another labor, only her own son! She was in her second pregnancy and chose to have her child in the same place she works.

Only Amanda heard that another woman was having an emergency during childbirth and that the doctor on duty was not in the building at the moment. Quickly, the obstetrician went to the next room and saw that Leah Halliday-Johnson's baby's heartbeat was dangerously low, so she helped bring the little one into the world.

After completing her mission, she returned to her own room waiting for her turn to have a baby. Little Ellen Joyce came into the world the next morning, a Monday (24), weighing just over 3 kg. The story was posted on Facebook by Amanda's co-worker and soon went viral.

The obstetrician even considered working until the last moment, but not literally. “I had received a call the day before, so I really thought I was working until the last minute. But that was literally until the last second, ”he said shortly after.
