Woman comes across rare two-headed snake in backyard

Unless you are a great connoisseur of snake reptiles and superfan, it is quite likely that you have never heard of a specimen known by the popular name of Copperhead Moccasin.

These creatures - Agkistrodon contortrix - can be found in the eastern United States and part of the northern region of Mexico, are usually 50 centimeters to 1.2 meters in length and are very poisonous and can even be deadly to humans.

Rarity

For an incredibly rare specimen of copper-headed moccasin was discovered by a Virginia woman in the garden of her home. This is because, instead of just a head, the creature discovered by the American had two ( and thus offered twice the risk of sting! ).

The woman - named Stephanie - did what any human being in her situation would do: she recorded a video and posted it on social networks, why! She then contacted authorities at a Virginia wildlife center who went to the residence to collect the rarity. Check out the clip:

According to Jess Joho of Mashable, experts who examined the snake explained that it is an extremely rare two-headed specimen, since animals of this type do not usually live long. Analyzes also revealed that while the right head appears to have the most developed throat - for food - the left head has the most esophageal dominance.

Regarding the fact that the reptile was born with two heads, experts explained that the snake is not much different from human Siamese twins born together, either by head, torso or hip. The specimen is currently being kept by the authorities in the wildlife center's laboratory for study, but will likely soon be donated to a zoo and put on display to the public.
