The Abandoned Supercars in Dubai

Dubai is known to be a land of eccentric millionaires, but some of them are creating astonishing situations for anyone with a little less money in their bank account.

The new phenomenon is the abandonment of luxury cars. When traveling to the UAE, you may find cars like Mercedes, Jaguar, BMW and even some abandoned Porsches and Ferraris in parking lots. Most surprisingly, the cars are there, giving soup with the key in the ignition - a fact that repeats a lot at Dubai Airport.

To give you an idea, one of the last models found was a Ferrari Enzo, valued at over 3 million reais - the car is so rare that only 399 units were manufactured. The car was an Englishman, who possibly left his car behind because of unpaid traffic tickets, which can jail there.

Besides fines, another motivation for abandoning such incredible cars would be the default caused by the financial crisis. While Dubai is the right place for millionaires, the place also houses a slew of rich people who end up losing their fortunes and going bankrupt.

So, before leaving the country, the old rich prefer to put their cars aside and not face the consequences of their indebtedness. The same is true of travelers, who also put their cars aside to escape prison. However, in addition to being barred from returning to Dubai, their names appear on Interpol lists.
