Why shouldn't you take your phone to the bathroom

A very common habit and no longer so strange is to take the phone to the bathroom as a form of distraction. The old custom of reading magazines or even newspapers during the inevitable callings of nature became obsolete. Today it is not uncommon to realize that not everyone can disconnect even in their most private moments. However, there are some problems with this, however many try to ignore.

You can imagine that the main problem is what makes health experts angry: contamination with germs and bacteria. You can even wash your hands well when you leave the bathroom, but then you can put your fingers in the phone again or bring it closer to your face if you need to answer a call or make a call. There is also a risk of dropping the phone in the toilet (who doesn't know anyone who has gone through this?). These alone would be good reasons to quit, but there is another reason, perhaps little discussed on the subject.

Forget your phone when you go to the bathroom

The point is that often when people go to the toilet is the only distraction they have during the day. Busy daily life, demands, pressure, work or studies can make the day pass in the blink of an eye, with no time left for anything. That is why it has been discussed how moments of distraction deserve greater appreciation in this hyperconnected generation. Going to the bathroom, which is in some ways a must-stop, could also be used as a time to disconnect.

We get used to interconnectedness even in our free time: we associate the practice of "doing nothing" with activities such as watching Netflix or TV, playing video games, being on the computer killing time on social networks and, of course, on the cell phone as well. But if we're doing some of these things, we're not exactly doing anything, right? The brain is receiving stimuli and information from the devices. So we cannot say that we are doing nothing. How do you know what really goes through your mind if your head is not likely to receive any stimulus or information?

We're talking about leaving the cell phone to go to the bathroom, but the real issue is spending a few minutes during the day disconnected. If you cannot afford to do so at any time, then we suggest it is the inevitable time to pause what you are doing to the bathroom. In addition to the risks of contamination and disease, there is the possibility of losing the device for a deadly dive, aside from the wasted chance of finally having a little time to really think about anything.
