Living in society requires exchange of knowledge, objects, time and various other things. Whether for personal or professional feedback, interpersonal interactions are fraught with subtleties for a particular purpose. But how can you increase the chances of getting positive answers? 1. Use rationality

Asking for any favor is a tricky thing; After all, we have been more individualistic tendencies for some time. Given this, the odds of being successful increase when we explain the reasons for our requests, not just demand something.

Here's these two examples: “Hello, could you help me set up this Excel spreadsheet?” And “Hi, I have to deliver an urgent report by the end of the day and I won't be able to finish these spreadsheets by myself. Could you help me with that? Realized the difference? By pointing out your motives, you can engage the caller in your story, making him or her more susceptible to your requests.

A study led by a Harvard University psychology researcher showed that by logically explaining the reasons for their demand, there is a 50% greater chance of a favorable return.

2. Listen and understand before ordering anything

This may be one of the trickiest tips when you think about it, as we are not usually used to listening. We have long put aside what the other has to say to the detriment of what we want, know, think - and each day this becomes more evident. This behavior is the exact opposite when you want something from someone.

Lynne Franklin is a business consultant focused on corporate language and how to get the best returns from this communication. She is even the author of a book called “Get Others to Do What You Want, ” in which she describes how listening is a key step in persuading anyone to do what you want or need. By listening, it is possible to understand which ambitions are present there and, thus, to shape their claims in the same discourse.

3. Choose the words

Some tricks are very simple and effective. By changing speech with more inclusive words, you can reach the speaker better. For example, “Go get some soda from the market!” Sounds a bit bossy and generates some discomfort. The following sentence shows how it is possible to get the other's collaboration: “I am so busy with work; could you help me and go to the market to buy some things? ”. Note the difference in sentences and how much impact it has on the recipient, even if the idea is the same.

When denying something, look for fewer words. Being more direct is more functional in this case. The recommendation is to use only "no" instead of "can't". When there is room for justification, there is room to challenge and be bent into doing what one does not want.

4. Request in person

Yet the most effective way to achieve a favor is to ask in person. People tend to be more susceptible when the conversation is eye to eye. It is a more intimate, more confident feeling, leaving more room for dialogue and interaction.
