Halden Prison in Norway was opened in 2010 and was built to house murderers and rapists. However, according to The Guardian, the facilities are incredibly different from what we would find in any woodcut here in Brazil.

In addition to winning an award for innovative interior design, Halden Prison is also known for being the most humane jail in the world. In it, guards move freely and are not armed to prevent prisoners from being intimidated or social distancing between them.

With capacity for up to 252 detainees, the individual cells feature a private bathroom, crisp towels and a flat-screen TV. In addition, inmates have games rooms, a grocery store - where they can shop and pay with a special prison credit card - and even a sound studio. Check out some images in the gallery below:
