Star Trek campaigns against US election of Donald Trump

On Thursday, the cast and crew of the "Star Trek" saga released an open letter urging US citizens not to vote for Republican candidate Donald Trump in the November presidential election this year. .

The action spawned a Facebook page titled Trek Against Trump and was signed by people of the caliber of JJ Abrams, the director of the 2009 Star Trek reboot, Chris Pine, who played Captain Kirk in recent films, and George Takei, who made Hikaru Sulu in the original series.

“Star Trek has always had a positive vision of the future, a vision of hope and optimism and, most importantly, a vision of inclusion, where equality of respect and dignity is accorded to people of all races, where individual beliefs and lifestyles are respected as long as they do not pose a threat to others, ”says the manifesto published by the cast.

The letter continues to attack candidate Donald Trump, saying that he is the complete opposite of the ideals propagated by the Star Trek universe and that his election would disastrously delay the United States.
