Amazing video shows last piece rise of new World Trade Center

Last Friday (10), the antenna of One World Trade Center in New York was put in its place. The historic and rather symbolic moment was recorded by world press cameras and by onlookers around, but none of them had the privilege of capturing the most amazing images of that moment.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (jointly working police in both states) installed a GoPro camera on the 758-ton metallic spiral end and was hoisted to the 541-meter top of the new building. The result is an impressive video with beautiful images - which are capable of causing vertigo in the less brave.

In the images, you can see the old buildings around the World Trade Center complex that survived the attacks of September 11, 2001. Also, in the final moments of the video, on the left side of the images, you can also see the Huge fountain built on the site of the old south tower, which is currently part of the memorial in honor of the nearly 3, 000 victims of the attacks.

One World Trade Center is being built at Ground Zero, adjacent to the site of the old twin towers. The building, also known as the Freedom Tower, is expected to be completed in 2014 and is considered the tallest building in the West and the third largest in the world.
