See if you have the 5 personality traits related to longevity

1 - Conscientiousness

A 75-year study of the lives of 300 couples found that conscientious people who are more attentive and less likely to take risks tend to live longer.

The personality traits of the people who participated in the study were assessed based on a 36-question questionnaire, answered by individuals who knew the participants well. The questions, formulated by psychologist E. Lowell Kelly in 1940, sought to understand behavioral issues, such as how a person handles his or her commitments and whether he or she has the energy to perform different tasks.

Another study, the results of which were released in 2007, surveyed the lives of men and women between 1930 and 2000 - again, the same conclusion: conscientious people live longer, regardless of gender.

2 - Have an open mind

The same research cited earlier, which has assessed the lives of hundreds of people over the course of 75 years, found that having an open mind is also a feature related to longevity, meaning that people willing to listen to different views and opinions seeing things differently are more likely to live longer.

A 2006 Japanese survey of people between 100 and 106 years old found that having an open mind is really a way of living for a long time.

3 - Emotional Stability

We know that balancing the emotions is not exactly the simplest task of all, but we must value this feature, after all it was mentioned in the research as well. Because the study began in the 1930s because of the social role of women at the time, women were cited as very unstable emotionally. Because of this, emotional stability was cited in the research as a beneficial factor for women, not men, but today we already have the notion that this is true for anyone.

This has been proven in other, more modern research, which assessed the behavioral traits of 2, 400 people of both genders and found that emotional stability plays an important role in the lives of both men and women.

4 - Friendliness

Being nice to others can also help you live longer, you know? A recent analysis of 243 men and women between 95 and 100 years old revealed that they were all known to be outgoing and friendly people.

5 - The ability to express feelings

Here is another common feature of centenary people: They know how to express what they feel, and they also have the ability to laugh at themselves and do not believe that it is worth hiding emotions and holding remorse for a long time. How about getting inspired by them?
