Until recently, the German passport was the most powerful in the world, being accepted visa free in 158 countries. He shared the top of the rankings with Singapore, which now passes free traffic in 159 countries - Paraguay, which had restrictions on Singaporeans, has just released tourists from the Asian country.
The information is from the Passport Index, which has an up-to-date list of places you can visit with your passport without a visa. Now, in Paraguay, Singaporeans can get a 30-day residence stamp once they land at an airport in the country.
The Passport Index lists the 193 UN-recognized countries and also considers six other territories: Taiwan, Macao, Hong Kong, Kosovo, Palestine and Vatican. For comparative purposes, the Brazilian passport is in 14th place in the ranking, tied with Croatia, being accepted without the need for a visa in 144 countries.

The one from Afghanistan ranks last, being accepted without a visa in only 22 countries. Iraq's and Pakistan's are also problematic: only 26 nations accept them freely. Top 5 include Syria (29 countries) and Somalia (34 countries).
In South America, we are the best placed. Argentina and Chile are accepted in 143 countries, Uruguay in 129, Peru in 123, Venezuela in 119, Paraguay in 118, Colombia in 107, Guyana and Ecuador in 78, Bolivia in 70 and, lastly, Suriname in only 69 countries.
