15 Old Photos of Hilarious Christmas Decorations

Although the Christmas tree is the star when it comes to Christmas decorations, there are many other things that can add to the ambience in this festive mood. And that was a truth in the 1950s and 1960s that continues to rise these days. After all, everything goes when you have creativity!

1. Here we have a metal tree. You couldn't decorate it with electric lights (like a flasher), because there was a great possibility of getting a shock. Scary, no?

2. Nothing like the charm of a beautiful miniature Christmas tree to adorn your TV! It may seem strange, but it was quite common at the time.

3. This photo is from a long time ago - perhaps not so much - when the Golliwog (this wide-eyed black doll) was still accepted in society. He became very famous, especially in the 70's, but was losing his popularity for being considered racist.

4. These fireplace decorations were classic in American homes, at least. It was said that Santa would arrive and put the Christmas present in his socks. But if it depended on these kittens, this family would be without any gift!

5. Who needs a Christmas tree when you have a kitchen kit like that effecting the room? No doubt the lucky one who got this gift was very happy!

6. These white Christmas trees really looked like they were full of snowflakes, didn't they?

7. "I'll be waiting to see if this Santa Claus really exists."

8. It was very common to buy this brick-patterned paper and stick it to the wall so that it looked like a fireplace. And voila, all set to hang Christmas socks!

9. Have you considered decorating your home with an inflatable reindeer Santa? Children should love this ornament (or be very scared)!

10. These women look pretty discouraged, but at least their dresses are matching the decor.

11. It's always good to have those who keep an eye on the gifts so that children don't open early. Did these cats do a good job?

12. These dolls adorned many houses in the old days. We still see one or the other today, especially in the homes of our dear grandparents.

13. If you notice well, you will notice that this Christmas tree was placed right on the couch.

14. Another tree full of presents, and with these hanging ornaments that resemble Cookie Man from the movie Shrek.

15. And, of course, another kitten to make the Christmas decoration even more cozy and lovely.
