7 cool sculptures that people have created with LEGO

1. A giraffe

Difficult to find someone who, in childhood, did not build with these small blocks an imaginary city or elaborate the most creative structures. The pleasure of handling them, however, for some people goes beyond the limits of time, as was the case with the group of artists who erected this 6.1-meter giraffe sculpture at the entrance to a shopping mall in Shanghai, China.

2. Racing Cart

Another example comes from Romania and is an amazing life-size racing cart. The engineer who made it, as if that wasn't enough, even included pedals and tires so he could get around.

3. Moai

Moais - those very peculiar heads of the remote Easter Island in the Pacific Ocean - form a set of 887 sculptures about 4 meters high and 14 tons, built around 1200 and 1500 by the Rapanui people. The original structures were carved into the rough stone, but there is already a very similar one made entirely of LEGO blocks.

4. Pharaoh

Anyone who has devoted 1 hour of their time to building a building with building blocks has no idea what it is like to spend 6 months on end creating a 5 meter high structure. Such is the statue of this pharaoh in Windsor, England, installed at Legoland, a theme park made exclusively for LEGO fans.

5. Art, pure art

Besides the possibility of recreating the main monuments of humanity, the small pieces of plastic are the ideal raw material for making art. Proof of this is the work of American artist Nathan Sawaya, famous for using LEGO to create mosaics and three-dimensional models of everyday items and human figures.

6. Taj Mahal

Even India's premier postcard got a LEGO version. The result, as you can see, was not as sumptuous as the original construction, but it is undoubtedly painstaking and time consuming.

7. Woody from Toy Story

Our list ends with this magnificent structure of Woody, the character of the movie “Toy Story” - which, like LEGO's building blocks - made our childhood an inspiring and imaginative time.
