7 messages that dilated pupils can pass

Your eyes tell a lot about what is going on with you, and the Psy Blog guys have compiled some very interesting information that can be perceived with a "simple" look, especially when someone has dilated pupils. Check out what they can say:

1 - You are thinking a lot

If someone asks a difficult question and you start to think about the answer right away, your pupils become more dilated - the more your brain works, the more your pupils open.

2 - Is something wrong with your brain?

Dilated pupils do not always indicate that you are just thinking, which is precisely why doctors have the habit of throwing that light into the patient's eye - so you can tell if the brain is working well. The rule is simple: pupils should be equal, circular and light-reactive.

3 - Something is holding your attention

If someone is really interested in what you are saying, it is possible that their pupils dilate. In a 1977 study, a group of volunteers listened to three books: one erotic, one involving mutilation, and one neutral. They had dilated pupils only when they heard the erotic and violent stories.

4 - The person is sexually aroused

The whole body responds to sexual arousal, including the pupils, which dilate in both men and women.

5 - Someone is shocked by any situation

In this case, the pupils tend to dilate at the onset of shock, such as when you see a situation of violence; but then they close in an attempt to keep you from seeing that scene.

6 - Are you in pain

If you experience sudden pain, regardless of the reason, your pupils dilate - this dilation varies with the intensity of the pain.

7 - When a person uses drugs

Alcohol and opium-derived drugs contract the pupils; Amphetamine, cocaine, LSD and mescaline, however, leave the pupils quite dilated.
