The truth behind 7 photos that circulated in WhatsApp groups

WhatsApp groups have become the new source of information for many people - even if the truth of this news is quite questionable. In family groups, especially, many images and texts that make no sense rotate. Most of the time, it would only take a shred of judgment to notice that it is fake news.

How about, then, remember 7 photos that a lot of people shared, but that didn't make much sense? Check out:

1. Sphinx with snow

A photo of the Great Sphinx of Giza has been shared time and time again with the caption, "The first snowstorm in Egypt in 112 years." This actually happened in 2013, but the photo that was used to illustrate the information was taken at the Tobu World Square theme park in Nikko, Japan, which reproduces famous monuments on a smaller scale.

2. Clouds over Mount Fuji

The original photo showed Mt. Fuji in Japan with an amazing lenticular cloud formation. However, those who decided to set up fake news must have found the true cloud not as impressive as it replicated 4 others to make the photo even more impressive, but virtually untrue.

3. Sharks at the mall

This is the old and has won several versions: the most common, here in Brazil, is that it would be a mall after a flood. Truth? Of course not! With Photoshop's help, the bugs were inserted into a flood record at a Toronto, Canada train station in 2012.

4. Evil Koala

The original photo showing the wet koala was taken in 2009 - and, let's face it, it already has a much more sinister version of what we are used to seeing from this cute pet. But someone found it cool to digitally insert a dog's jaw, making the photo even more scary and viralizable.

5. Australia, as always ...

The Australian fauna has extremely exotic animals, so many people believed when the image of this little spider on the wall of a house there appeared on the internet. But the original picture is much less scary: it is a grass spider, also called a wolf spider, which is usually no more than 5 cm long. Oh .. and she was made in Florida, USA.

6. Giant squid

Huge animals scare and that would be no different with this giant squid that would have appeared on a beach in New Zealand in 2015. The original photo taken in 2012 in Canada actually shows a large marine animal, but it is a whale - humpback, which can reach about 15 meters long!

7. Emu with Teeth

Emus, Australia's largest native bird, can be up to 2 meters tall. And because they are animals from the strangest country in the world in this sense, many people have not even suspected that the toothed beak that viralized was a montage. And the worst thing: they put shark teeth on poor little guy!
