Bizarre: Have you ever heard of the sheep-eating plant?

You have probably heard of carnivorous plants, but do you know the sheep-eating plant? Exactly: sheep. Discovery News recently published news about one of these strange little plants, which is blooming in a greenhouse in England for the first time since it was planted 15 years ago.

The creepy plant measures just over 3 meters high and looks quite different with pointed structures. The flowers should stay for about a week.

This type of plant is native to the Andes and leaves the traditional carnivorous fly-eating plant in its slipper. Also known as P uya chilensis, this plant is known as the “sheep eater” because of the sharp thorns that act as a terrible trap to the region's animals that, once struck, paralyze and starve. The bodies of these animals become fertilizer for the bloodthirsty plants.

Some of these bizarre plants are in Surrey, England, in RHS Garden Wisley greenhouses, and, according to plant manager Cara Smith, in the greenhouse they are fed liquid fertilizers, as a natural diet would be difficult to maintain. This statement was given in an interview with the BBC network, which sent an interviewer dressed as sheep (pictured above). So, had you ever heard of this killer little plant?
