Tumblr plays with famous brand pronunciation and hits the internet
In a globalized world where demand for imported products is high, there is no denying that it is difficult to recognize and pronounce the names of some brands. After a while and with the help of commercials, we were able to get familiar with the product, but some brands continue to cause confusion.
To play a little with this idea that we ended up adapting the brand name to local speech, copywriter Gustavo Asth has unpretentiously created a Tumblr in which he posts redesigned foreign brand logos in the way that people speak. The project - which was named #ComoFala - has already reached the 100, 000 hits mark, according to Época magazine news.
Personal experience
Gustavo says that the idea came from experiences in his daily life: "I always found it curious that some people talked about Éipou (Apple). Once in a bar, I heard the waiter say that he only had Rêiniken, " says the publicist.
Receiving suggestions from netizens and posting new designs in their free time, the goal of the advertiser is simply to play with the way we end up calling some brands. Without wanting to find the “right pronunciation” or “teaching how to speak the right way”, Tumblr guarantees a few moments of fun.
Below we have selected some of the brands that have already won their version in #HowToFala. To see all logos, access the advertiser's Tumblr by clicking here.
