Blue Man - Summer 2013

Fotosite Agency / Press ReleaseBlue Man opened the Brazilian fashion season for summer 2013 celebrating the 40th anniversary of the brand's existence. The collection is a retrospective, but modernizing the pieces and managing to combine the news with an air of nostalgia.

The show began with the presentation of a video on the catwalk, recalling the best moments of the brand, with images of the most famous models and the most famous campaigns in a pop and color version. Then the catwalk was taken by iconic models of the brand's history such as Ana Claudia Michels, Aline Weber, Shirley Malmann and Emanuelle de Paula.

The hollowed-out whites opened the parade in the style fool mom. The protagonist of this summer is certainly the swimsuit, with unusual cutouts and bold necklines. But the bikinis were not left out, appearing in various forms and for various tastes: curtains, hang gliders, wide panties, shorts and many tops closed to the neck and short sleeves.

For the boys there were swim trunks, neopremes body and many colorful shorts. Highlight for the neopreme vest with the print of Paulo Zulu. At their feet, only Hawaiian.

The looks had an 80's feel, especially for accessories such as acrylic visors, waist belts, and half-heeled sandals, acrylic heels and metallic details. Maxi backpacks also appeared, with iPads exposed for back viewers.

The prints are many: colorful and lisergic with 70's air and fish and butterfly design, the famous colorful bananas of the brand, scenes from Rio de Janeiro like Lapa and Christ the Redeemer, mandalas with embroidered stones, and a beach where appears among the people David Azulay, the brand creator. But surely, the ones that caught the most attention were with the brand's old campaigns and models such as Rose Di Primo, Monique Evans, Talita Pugliesy, Mariana Weickert, Carol Ribeiro, and more.

The smooth pieces were in neon shades or were in jeans, and some even had lamé finish and plasticized textures. The sporty touch was especially due to the swimming necklines and hoods.

At the end of the show, a big celebration on stage that included Thomas and Sharon Azulay, brand designers, Benny Rosset (Cia. Marítima), Lenny Niemeyer, Jaqueline di Biasi (Salinas) and Cidinho da Bumbum Brasil.
