Exclusive watch collection is launched by NASA

Two years ago NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) made an incredible discovery of seven exoplanets, also known as extrasolar planets, revolving around the red dwarf star Trappist-1. Inspired by the discovery, NASA launched the Trappist-1 Moonphase Watch. But this year the watch brand Xeric has joined NASA to create an even more special collection. The new collection was developed in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.

With a design made from scratch, Trappist-1 NASA Edition features auto movement, auto winding and brighter stars. The traditional clock hands have been replaced by two glowing Super-LumiNova time planets, along with a constellation-like second hand that replicates the movement of how comets scratch the sky at night. To top it off, the grille that adorns the watch dial was designed after the ISS Cupola Grille, the largest observation door ever placed in space.

In addition, the watch is protected with a glass dome made of Hesalite, which is a break-resistant material originally developed for NASA in the 1960s to withstand the harsh environment in space. As for the straps, the full-grain leather is specially textured and stitched to resemble the ridge lines seen in the space gloves.

Only 1969 pieces of each Trappist-1 NASA Edition variant will be produced, each of which will be numbered individually to ensure authenticity. The quartz model will also come with a commemorative 50th anniversary commemorative cover of the Apollo 11 mission patch. Advance purchase guarantees up to 36% savings over future retail price.
