Chinese private company fails orbital rocket launch

Chinese private companies have been making progress in developing travel rockets, and some attempts have even managed to lift flights closer to orbit - but so far none have been successful. The last attempt came on Saturday (27), when the third stage of LandSpace's Zhuque-1 thruster failed.

The episode took place at the Jiuquan Satellite launch center in the Gobi Desert. Zhuque-1 carried a satellite that would be responsible for broadcasting the "Cheers Science" TV series to state-owned CCTV. There is still not much detail about what caused the defect.

Although things did not go as expected, the company celebrated the smooth running of the first two stages of Zhuque-1. In addition, LandSpace celebrated the fact that it is the first private space firm to obtain space rocket permits.

Now the startup says it will keep trying, but there is no clear announcement about what LandSpace's next steps will be. Alongside OneSpace, it has been the leading name in recent months in China's goal to compete with the United States and SpaceX and Blue Origin.

The biggest difference is that while Chinese companies receive support from the Chinese government's space program, Yankee companies, even without so much incentive funding, continue with more independent projects.
