Meet the marathon that gathers race and lots of beer

If you're a wallet-drinking beer, maybe it's time to start saving some money and going to Austin, the capital of Texas, to take part in the race that brings together the sport and taking the delicacy.

This year's alcoholic marathon took place on December 3rd and brought together about 150 participants athletes and drinkers who faced the challenge of taking a break every 400 meters and turning a can of beer.

Anyone who vomits during the race is disqualified at the same time, so you have to have your stomach and liver up to date. Competitors can choose which beer to drink, which is a good thing. Just a detail: the chosen drink must have at least 5% alcohol content.

The marathon was inspired by an event held in Kingston, Ontario, where the running and beer union first took place. Due to US law restricting alcohol consumption in public, many of these marathons take place at the end of the day or evening. Austin's, for example, started at 5:30 pm.

One of the runners explained the sensation of drinking beer during the race: "It's like there's a giant bubble of air trapped between your stomach and throat, and you can burp as much as you like, but the bubble never disappears." So, did you want to experiment?
