Meet the robot that has more than 100 engines and can even sweat

If science fiction literature is fed up with robotic examples that can mimic us, real life goes a very similar way. Proof of this is the Kengoro robot, created by JSK Lab, University of Tokyo, Japan, which uses is strong, sturdy, uses more than 100 engines and is even able to sweat.

That's right, just like humans, Kengoro uses perspiration to regulate its temperature. The researchers responsible for creating the robot noticed that their engines got very hot during use, so they thought of a different system to keep everything cool.

Kengoro's "bones" are filled with a coolant that is gradually released as things heat up, basically the same process that humans perform. The liquid drips down the robot's parts, which have been specially reshaped with small openings so that “sweat” gets in every corner and evaporates, reducing the temperature and preventing it from overheating.

According to the Japanese scientists, the new method proved to be incredibly effective, yielding results up to three times better than the passive air system hitherto used by them to keep their creation running smoothly.
