There are days when the urge to be alone, in the company of a good book or simply without having to talk to anyone, is irresistible. And those who would like to isolate themselves in a bubble for a while now can do so literally.

Designers at Zurich's Micasa Lab created Cocoon 1, a union of living room, bedroom and kitchen that sits within a transparent bubble. With a diameter of 180 cm and an average weight of 135 pounds when assembled, the bubble includes three basic modules with pillows and a kitchen equipped with a 30-minute power supply and a tap with water that is eliminated by an outlet tube. There are also USB ports and Wi-Fi network.

According to the disclosure of the project, the interior of the bubble can be customized according to your needs. Thus, it is possible to increase the storage spaces or replace them with comfortable resting pillows.

And it's not just the inside that can be changed. You can also choose the setting you want for your moment of isolation, as Cocoon can be indoors, on the grass or even hanging from a tree, as it supports it.

For now, the project is not yet for sale, but it is a matter of months. The bubble is expected to be available in fall 2013 with an estimated price of $ 2, 990. And you, would you invest in Cocoon?
