'Despacito' is the first video to reach 4 billion views on YouTube

The video “Despacito”, music by Puerto Rican Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, became the first video to reach 4 billion views on YouTube. The clip had also been the first in the site's history to reach 3 billion views. This impressive achievement was achieved just 203 days after its publication on January 12 this year.

“Depacito” is 898 million times more watched than any other YouTube video. In total, there are 14 million views per day, peaking at 25 million in one day. The clip is currently the most viewed in 45 countries, including Spain, Mexico, Germany, Greece, Portugal and Argentina.

This song seems to have come out of nowhere and left behind songs that had everything to conquer YouTube. In addition to PSY's classic "Gangnam Style, " "Despacito" also distanced itself greatly from Wiz Khalifa's hit "See You Again."
