Inmate reproduces face of penitentiary agent with soap

A situation at least unusual caught the attention in the Santa Rita Standard Penitentiary, which is in the João Pessoa Metropolitan Region. Penitentiary agents found in one cell an impressive mask that simulated the face of one of the local agents.

But what scared the staff the most was the perfection with which the inmate reproduced the face and, especially, the material used for it. The man, who identified himself as a visual artist when asked, did all the soap work.

In an interview with G1, State Penitentiary Administration Secretary Wallber Virgolino said the team's first concern with finding the material was about its possible misuse. "We learned that the prisoners were making masks to escape, but the inmate informed us that he is a fine artist and that the fabricated material was just a way to honor the agent."

An inquiry is being opened to investigate the case, however, the detainee should be encouraged to continue the work. “The mask is very similar to the features of the server. I will buy more soap so that he can continue doing the craft work, which is part of the resocialization ”, added Virgolino.

The detainee, who has been serving a theft sentence for two years, had his mask confiscated and taken to the Scientific Police Institute, but there is no information on what will be done after the experts' analysis.
